Green manure

The rate of growth with the mild weather is amazing just now.  These are the narcissi and tulips coming up through the green manure I sowed last year.  I trialled some different varieties – some that are frost killed and others that you need to cut.  Well the frost killing didn’t really work this year!  Our first frosts are usually in mid October but without any, the mustard started to flower in October so I decided I would have to cut it myself before it set seed.
