Slugs are still here!

The weather here has been wet, wet, wet, although not raining all day, with occasional breaks of sunshine.  This has meant that the slugs have returned to feast! The longer nights give them a chance to munch for longer I think.

I notice a change in the air with it getting darker quicker at night – but little do the slugs know that it means I can go out and pick them off before I go to bed at night.

You know you have a lot when they are half way up the stems of plants before it is dark!  Favourite method of slug dispatching? Let me know yours first! Seasonal flowers crops are dependent on vigilant pest control.  Another lesson for the reformed laissez-faire gardener…
